High Violet - The National

On May 11 the new The National album, High Violet, is coming out. After Alligator and Boxer my expectations couldn’t be higher. You can download a track, Bloodbuzz Ohio from the official website. This video is playing on repeat for the last two days,

God Fodder, Ned's Atomic Dustbin

I don’t enjoy much choosing favorites, but Ned’s Atomic Dustbin deserves to be called a favorite. I have been listening them since I was 10 or so and never got tired. Somehow I feel that a lot of things changed through the years but Ned’s Atomic Dustbin was there all along, good feeling.

Hospice, The Antlers

Hospice is a story of a relation between a terminally ill cancer patient and the nurse told from both sides. Hospice is not the album to listen carefully if you are in good mood, it isn’t just a bunch of songs put together, is not made of catchy lyrics and tunes. Hospice is one of the best albums I’ve ever listened, it is emotionally violent and dense, and it just ruined my day.

Beast Moans, Swan Lake

Swan Lake is a joint project of Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown), Dan Bejar (The New Pornographers, Destroyer) and Carey Mercer (Frog Eyes). Beast Moans is their debut album. This is not clean indie rock, Krug described it as “a boar dying in a tar pit”, there are small sounds and distortions all over the album, but everything sounds on place.
